ABOUT MEETING OF THE RMS

“The Meeting is the highest governing body of the Society. It has the following jurisdiction: discussion of the Society’s general objectives, organisational issues and work calendar plans, reports and messages on scientific challenges; approval of reports on the activities of the Society and its branches. Exclusive rights of the Meeting are as follows: consideration of amendments and additions to the current Charter; electing the President, members of the Society’s Academic Council and Review Committee; election of honorary members of the Society; consideration of issues related to the Society’s reorganisation… The Society Meeting shall convene at least once every five years…”

S5.  Natural stone in art and architecture.

S6. Modern research in the field of gemstone stock and gemology study.

F1. Mineralogical crystallography, crystal chemistry and new minerals.

F2. The history of sciences, museumification and popularisation of natural knowledge.

Forms of participationn: viva-voce reports and poster presentations.

Meeting languages - Russian, English.

REGISTRATION

The fee for participating in the Meeting and Session covers publication of works (reports of the Meeting and Session participants in the Proceedings indexed in the Scopus database), and participation of delegates in all Meeting and Session activities, coffee breaks, lunches, and tours.

Participation of students and retirees in the Meeting and Session is possible without payment of the participation fee, on the condition of advance application and the approval of the Organizing Committee.

EXCURSIONS

The organizing Committee offers cultural program (excursions) for the participants:
1) Mining Museum an d the Centre of collective access ( Laboratory of the Mining university (CCA)).
2) Geological Museum named after academician F.N. Chernyshev and the Central Laboratory (VSEGEI). 
3) The Flood Prevention Facility Complex ( Kronstadt Dam) (the number of participants is limited: 20 people.)
4) Sightseeing tour around St. Petersburg (the number of participants is limited: 35 people)
5) Excursion around  St. Petersburg and Leningrad region «From glorious names to great discoveries» (by the footsteps of honorary members of RMI: D.I. Mendeleev, Duke of Leuchtenberg etc.) (the number of participants is limited: 35 people).
